Gochkisa 37 mm barrel Mod. 28.

Russian cannon c. c. Gochkisa (Cyrillic transliteration of “Hotchkiss”) modified copy of the Hotchkiss M27 cannon. It was a simple and reliable barrel, with a high rate of fire thanks to its semi-automatic closing system. It was primarily intended for use against infantry and machine gun nests, as its low muzzle velocity made it unsuitable as an anti-tank gun. Although its armor penetration was poor, even as late as 1939 it was sufficient to take on lightly armored vehicles. The cannon was operated by a single soldier and was easy to use, with a low jam rate. It was aimed with a telescopic sight, mounted on the left side of the barrel. The Hotchkiss mantlet system, allowed the barrel a rotation of 35 ° to each side and an elevation of + 30 ° to -8 °. The one presented corresponds to a game purchased in the USSR to assemble the Spanish-made armored vehicles called Chevrolet or B.C., which were a variant of the Soviet BA. There is evidence that on April 2, 1938, 250 pieces of this model arrived in Spain, loaded on the \"Bougaroni\" steamer. In addition, they were also used as accompaniment pieces for the Infantry, with the Republican Armament Undersecretariat building carriages with wheels for use on land (About 100).
